sp2炭素骨格に覆われた球状炭素空間に単一分子を取り出し,その性質ならびに動的挙動を緩和時間測定・理論化学計算によって明らかにしている.また,遷移金属触媒を用いた開口フラーレン誘導体の位置選択的構造修飾法の開発を行なっている.

By utilizing relaxation time measurements as well as theoretical calculations, we attempt to elucidate the anomalous nature and dynamic behavior of a single molecule geometrically isolated inside a spherical carbon nanocavity. We also develop the regiocontrolled modification for the skeletons of cage-opened fullerene derivatives.
