2012年京都大学農学部卒業、2014年京都大学大学院農学研究科修士課程修了。修士課程在籍時、日本国際協力機構(JICA)を通じて短期青年海外協力隊としてバングラデシュに派遣。2015-2016年国連食糧農業機関(FAO)でのインターン及び2016-2017年日本学術振興会特別研究員を経て、2017 年京都大学大学院農学研究科から博士号(農学)を取得。また、同年京都大学大学院思修館プログラム修了。同大学院博士課程修了後,2017-2018年外務事務官として外務省経済局経済安全保障課に勤務 。2018-2020年FAOジュニア専門官、2020-2021年FAO食品安全専門官を経て、2021年1月より京都大学大学院農学研究科助教、現在に至る。主な学術賞に、2014年11月国際酵母学会(ICY)での最優秀ポスター発表賞等。2017年4月から京都大学大学院総合生存学館同窓会・遊聞会会長、2020年4月に京都大学応援大使を拝命。

Graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture, Kyoto University, in 2012 and completed the master’s program at the Graduate School of Agriculture, Kyoto University, in 2012. Sent to Bangladesh as a short-term Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteer during the course of the master’s program. After an internship at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in 2015-2016 and a research fellowship at the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) in 2016-2017, earned a Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Agriculture, Kyoto University, in March 2017. Also, completed the program at the Graduate School of Advanced Leadership Studies, Kyoto University. Following the acquisition of the Ph.D. degree, worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an Official in 2017-2018 and proceeded the career with the FAO as a Junior Professional Officer (JPO) in the Office of Food Safety. After the JPO period in 2018-2020, hired as a Food Safety Specialist and worked at the FAO for another year and appointed as an Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Agriculture, Kyoto University, in January 2021. Academic awards include the Best Poster Presentation Ward received at the International Congress on Yeast in 2014. Serving as the President for the alumni of the Graduate School of Advanced Integrated Studies in Human Survivability, Kyoto University, namely Yumon-kai since April 2017. Appointed as a Support Ambassador of Kyoto University in April 2020.

The research aims at understanding cellular functions of microorganisms through various approaches in the laboratory and further applying the scientific knowledge towards producing useful proteins, resolving issues around invaluable resources and the environment, as well as increasing the food production.
