生命倫理学の分野において、実証研究と理論研究の両側面から、先端科学技術、特にES/iPS細胞研究、ゲノム編集、オルガノイド研究をめぐる倫理的課題に取り組んでいる。

His research interests lie primarily in issues concerning new and emerging technologies in practical ethics, particularly topics pertaining to ES/iPS cell technology, genome editing technology, and organoid technology. Previously, he has written on the ethics of human iPS cell research and human embryonic stem cell research (e.g. moral status of human iPS cells, moral complicity in human ES/iPS cell research, human-animal chimera research, and stem cell-derived gamete research), organoid technology, and dual-use problem of decoded neurofeedback.
