Personal Profile
(English)
I am conducting research in the field of palliative care. My research interests include treatment decision-making with a special focus in Advanced Care Planning; patient reported outcomes (quality of care); integration of palliative care within existing clinical services ( currently exploring the intensive care context) and transcultural aspects of end-of-life care. In my educational role, I teach four modules ( palliative care, introduction to health psychology, cultural aspects of care and qualitative research). I hope that with my role in Kyoto University I will inspire students to engage with international perspectives of health care. I also wish to further advocate for cross- cultural research between Japan and the West and inform international debates within the field of palliative care.

Overview of the research
(English)
I am currently doing research in palliative care in three areas: Advanced Care planning perspectives between UK and Japan and its use in the ICU environment, Palliative Care interventions effectiveness in the Intensive care context and outcome measures in palliative care ( adaptation of measures for Greek patients). Shared decision making, quality of care measurement and integration of Palliative care in non specialist clinical settings are the key areas I am currently focusing on.
