Overview of the research

高温超伝導体とはじめとする電子相関が強い物質が示す奇妙な物性を明らかにするため光電子分光を用いた実験的研究を行っている。これらの物質は電子同士のクーロン相互作用や電子と格子振動の相互作用のために金属絶縁体転移を起こし複雑で多彩な物性を示す。角度分解光電子分光(ARPES)は固体中の電子を光電効果により取り出し、電子のエネルギーバンド分散やフェルミ面、超伝導ギャップなどの電子構造を直接観測することができる実験手法である。ARPESを用いて放射光および実験室光源を使った光電子分光により高温超伝導、金属絶縁体相転移、軌道秩序状態などを出現させる電子的機構の解明を目指している。

I am studying high-Tc superconductors and strongly correlated electron system by photoemission spectroscopy in order to reveal the origin of novel physical properties in these material. Because of the electron correlation and the electron-phonon interaction, these material show metal-insulator transition and complicated physical properties. Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) is an experimental method to directly detect the electronic structure of solid, such as electron energy band dispersion, Fermi surface and superconducting gap, by using photoelectric effect. We are aiming to reveal the mechanism of high-Tc superconductivity, metal-insulator transition and electron orbital order by ARPES.
