新しい老化の概念であるストレス老化に、一貫して従事している。代謝、特に解糖系代謝が、その鍵であると考え、具体的には解糖系酵素PGAMに注目している。そのモデルマウスを作製し、解析を行っている。同時にヒト高齢者における、血液メタボローム解析も行っている。
