ヒトの直立二足歩行の進化と適応を探ることを目的とし、霊長類の特に運動器の機能形態学、霊長類ロコモーションのバイオメカニクス研究、フィールドでの霊長類ポジショナル行動の観察と運動計測などに従事している。また、現代人が二足歩行を行う際の、姿勢制御戦略を知るために、歩行中の頭頸部の動きを運動学的なアプローチで調べている。

One of the goals of my research is to understand how humans developed the unique bipedal locomotion. For this purpose, I am working on functional morphology in primate locomotor aparatus, and biomechanics of primate locomotion. I am also working on modern humans to study postural control strategies during human bipedal walking.
