在学中より電離圏の観測とシミュレーションに着手。4種のドメイン(ac.jp、go.jp、edu, gov)を渡り歩き、レーダー、ロケット、人工衛星による観測データの解析と、独自の数値シミュレーションモデルの開発を軸として、電離圏物理の基礎研究、電波伝搬への応用研究を行っている。

Studying ionosphere with observations and simulations belonging to four domains (ac.jp, go.jp, edu, gov). Research targets are the basic ionospheric physics and aplication to radio propagation based on observations with radars, satellites, and sounding rockets, and original numericaion simulation models.

Observation ans simulation of ionospheric irregularities
Overview of the research
(Japanese)
地球大気から宇宙への遷移領域である電離圏では、中性大気とプラズマが相互作用し様々なプラズマ不安定現象が発生する。このような現象は衛星通信・測位に深刻な障害を及ぼすことが知られている。このような現象の生成機構を解明し、発生予測につなげるための研究を、観測とシミュレーションを駆使して行っている。

Earth's ionosphere consists of neutral atmosphere and ionized plasma particles which can be regarded as a transition region from Earth to space. Plasma instabilities in the ionosphere genereate various irregular plasma density structures and cause severe satellite communication and navigation outage. My research aims at understanding the plasma dynamics in the ionosphere and forecasting the occurrence of irregularities by observations and simulations.
