人間の感覚系の研究を行っている。専門は人間の視覚で、動きを見る仕組みの分析が研究の出発点だったが、その後、形や色の知覚、時間知覚、触覚知覚、多感覚統合、といった様々な感覚情報処理に関する研究を行ってきた。とくに最近は、現実世界の知覚を理解したいという思いから、質感の研究に力を入れている。心理物理や神経科学といったサイエンスに、コンピュータビジョン、コンピュータグラフィックス、ディスプレイテクノロジー、バーチャルリアリティなどの情報工学を融合することに関心がある。

I'm studying human sensory system, particularly visual system. My initial research focus was on visual motion perception, but later I've been studying various types of sensory information processing such as shape and color perception, time perception, tactile perception, and multisensory integration. Recently, I have been focusing on material perception in order to understand the perception of the real world. I am interested in combining science such as psychophysics and neuroscience with computer vision, computer graphics, display technology, and virtual reality.

人間の感覚系の研究を行っている。専門は人間の視覚で、動きを見る仕組みの分析が研究の出発点だったが、その後、形や色の知覚、時間知覚、触覚知覚、多感覚統合、といった様々な感覚情報処理に関する研究を行ってきた。とくに最近は、現実世界の知覚を理解したいという思いから、質感の研究に力を入れている。心理物理や神経科学といったサイエンスに、コンピュータビジョン、コンピュータグラフィックス、ディスプレイテクノロジー、バーチャルリアリティなどの情報工学を融合することに関心がある。

I'm studying human sensory system, particularly visual system.
