中性子、放射光X線といった量子ビームを中心とした実験と分子動力学計算および逆モンテカルロ法による構造モデリング、そして最先端の位相的データ解析を相補利用することによって、ガラス・液体・アモルファスといった機能性非晶質材料の構造と機能の相関を明らかにする研究に取り組んでいる。
