生物の性質を決定するDNAは細胞の中では染色体として存在している。私は、「生命を司る染色体がいかにして維持されているか、そしてその維持が破綻したときに、細胞にどのような影響がもたらされるのか?」という問いに答えることを目指している。特に現在は、染色体の末端”テロメア”の融合が細胞の運命にどのような影響を与えるかを、最新の染色体改変技術を駆使して解析している。

DNA that determines the properties of organisms exists as chromosomes in cells. I aim to answer the question, "How are the chromosomes responsible for life maintained, and what effects will they have on cells when their maintenance is abrogated?" In particular, we are currently analyzing how the fusion of chromosome ends called "telomere" affects cell fate by using the latest chromosome modification technology.
