Overview of the research

有機合成化学や表面化学的な手法を用いてグラフェンナノリボンをはじめとするナノ炭素材料の創出と機能性材料としての応用を目指して研究を行っている。グラフェンナノリボンは1次元状シート構造を有する炭素材用で、そのエッジ構造を修飾することにより強磁性や強誘電性といった物性を示すことができるため、その合成と物性・機能評価に取り組んでいる。

The purpose of my research is to create carbon nano materials, such as graphene nanoribbons, based on organic synthetic chemistry and surface chemistry and apply as functional organic materials. Graphene nanoribbons have one-dimensional sheet-like carbon structure, and should exhibit ferromagnetic and ferroelectric properties by changing the edge strutures. I'm now trying to synthesize functionalized graphene nanoribbons and evaluate their properties.
