Physiological and genetic studies on the improvement of photosynthetic capacity of C3 crop species
Overview of the research

主要作物であるイネおよびダイズの光合成速度を遺伝的に改良し、収量やバイオマス生産の向上に貢献することを目指している。研究手法としては、野外条件において光合成速度を決定する要因を生理学的に解析するとともに、遺伝学的手法も取り込みながら多角的なアプローチを行っている。

The final object of my studies is to contribute the improvement of biomass production of soybean and rice, through genetic enhancement of leaf photosynthetic capacity. To achieve this, the physiological analysis of the determinant of leaf photosynthetic rate has been conducted under both field and green house conditions. Genetic materials and analyses has been also intensively applied in my studies.
