Topological physics explored by ultracold quantum atomics gases in optical lattices
研究概要
(日本語)
私たちは量子シミュレータや量子コンピュータといった量子技術の開発を行っています。最先端のレーザー技術を駆使し、光で作られた周期ポテンシャル(光格子)の中に量子縮退した原子気体を捕捉して、そこで発現する物性現象について研究を行っています。特に、サウレスポンプといったトポロジカル現象について実験をしています。また、冷却中性原子気体を用いた量子情報処理の実験研究も進めています。

We work on development of quantum technologies such as quantum simulator and quantum computer. With the recent state-of-art laser technologies, we trap ultracold quantum atomics gases in optical lattices and study condensed matter physics which emerges in the atomic gases. In particular, we work on experimental research on quantum topological phenomena such as Thouless charge pumping. We also work experimentally on quantum information processing using cold neutral atoms.
