I am studying host defense responses against microbial infection. Particularly, I am interested in the molecular mechanisms of innate immunity, a immune system responsible for the initial recgonition of pathogens and evoking inflammatory responses.

Identification of regulatory mechanisms of inflammation via innate immunity
研究概要
(日本語)
自然免疫は感染の初期認識の他、様々なストレスに対する炎症の惹起に重要である。この炎症応答を制御する分子メカニズムに関し、(1) mRNA安定性制御を介したサイトカイン産生制御機構、(2) Toll-like receptor (TLR)シグナル伝達制御メカニズム、(3) TLR刺激に対する転写調節機構をを中心に、遺伝子改変マウスを用いて解析している。

Innate immunity is critical not only for early recognition of pathogens, but also for evoking inflammation in response to various stresses. I have been analyzing molecular mechanisms regulating inflammation by focusing on (1) cytokine regulation via mRNA stability, (2) Toll-like receptor (TLR) signal transduction mechanisms and (3) regulation of gene transcription downstream of TLR using mouse models.
