Highly efficient energy production from biomass
研究概要
(日本語)
化石燃料枯渇あるいは地球温暖化などの環境問題等の地球規模の重大な問題を解決する一つの方策として、バイオマスの更なる有効利用が望まれています。とりわけ、食料物質と競合しない非食物系バイオマスの効率的利用が必要です。エネルギー物質の中でも特に有用性の高いエタノールのバイオマスからの高効率生産を目指し、遺伝子操作やタンパク質工学などの先進的手法を用いて、バイオマスからのエネルギー物質の高効率生産システムの確立を目指しています。

The more efficient use of biomass is demanded to solve the global crises such as exhaustion of fossil fuel and global warming. Our group is focused on the highly efficient production of ethanol from biomass using genetic engineering.
