無機材料科学および固体化学を専門分野として研究をしている。教育に関しては、工学部の化学系の学生を対象として、無機化学の講義および学生実験により基礎的な知識と実験技術を身につけさせることを目指し、研究室の大学院生には、共同研究を通じて無機材料の合成と物性評価に関わる実践的な研究能力が備わるよう指導している。
