原子力や工業機器内の熱流動研究を行うとともに、沸騰二相流に応用可能な計測法として、中性子や様々なプローブを用いた計測技術の開発を行っている。教育に関しては、研究室の大学院生および学外の研究機関との共同研究の中で、実践的に研究能力を身につけさせることを目指している。

I am conducting research on thermalhydraulics in relation to nuclear power plant and other industrial equipments. As for education, one of my goals is to help graduate students acquire the practical skills needed to conduct joint research. I strive continuously to contribute to regional development by working with local companies. Furthermore, I take part in several committees and work diligently toward the improvement of the environment of the university.

研究概要
(日本語)
将来の核エネルギーシステムで発生する高密度の熱流を安全かつ効率的に利用することを目的に、超高熱負荷除熱に関する基礎的研究、次世代炉や核融合炉、放射線・粒子線の高度利用システム等で遭遇する様々な極限条件下での熱流動現象の特性とその制御に関する研究及び新しい流体機能の利用に関する研究を行っている。

We are pursueing safe and efficient use of high-density thermal energy produced in various next generation nuclear energy systems, such as an advanced nuclear reactor, fusion reactor and an accelerator-driven nuclear energy system. The research activity covers basic studies on the characteristics and the control of thermal-hydraulic phenomena under various extreme conditions which are encountered in the next generation nuclear energy systems.
