関節リウマチや全身性エリテマトーデスなどの膠原病・リウマチ疾患の専門診療に従事するとともに、医学生、研修医、大学院生の教育、そして基礎および臨床研究も行っている。また診療に対する患者や家族の理解を深めるため、院内でリウマチ教室を、地域で市民講座を開き、知識の共有と共感に根ざした医療をめざしている。

As a rheumatologist, I am conducting medical practice as well as education for medical students, trainees and graduate students, and basic and clinical research. In addition, in order to deepen patient and family understanding for the treatment, I give lectures in the hospital and citizen courses in areas aiming at medical care rooted in knowledge sharing and empathy.

Analyses of autoantibody and autoantigen molecule functions in rheumatoid arthritis and examination of their pathological significance in persistent arthritis

自己免疫疾患である関節リウマチでは、滑膜で発現している抗原がT・B細胞を刺激し、関節炎の進行に関与していると考え、滑膜自己抗原のクローニングを行った。その結果、IL-6シグナル伝達子gp130の可溶型スプライスバリアント(gp130-RAPS)とホリスタチン関連蛋白(FSTL1)を同定した。さらにFSTL1の機能解析を進め、結合分子としてCD14とDIP2を同定し、現在は主にDIP2の滑膜における機能を解析している。

In rheumatoid arthritis, which is an autoimmune disease, synovial autoantigens are thought to promote arthritis by stimulating T and B cells. Therefore, we performed molecular cloning of synovial autoantigens and identified a soluble splice variant of IL-6 signal transducer gp130 (gp130-RAPS) and follistatin-related protein (FSTL1). In further analysis on the function of FSTL1, CD14 and DIP2 were identified as its binding molecules. We currently analyze the function of DIP2 in synovium mainly.
