1976年大阪府立三国ヶ丘高等学校卒業、1976年京都大学農学部農学科入学、1980年同学科卒業、京都大学農学研究科農学専攻修士課程入学、1982年同修士課程修了、博士課程進学。1983年京都大学助手、1988年より大阪府立大学農学部助手、講師、助教授。2004年より信州大学農学部教授。2009年より京都大学農学研究科(農学資源経済学系)教授、現在に至る。研究は、栽培システムの構築と収穫物の品質生理。

Overview of your research

野菜や花に新しい可能性を求めて、開発・生産・品質管理に関する研究を行っている。現在の研究テーマは以下の通りである;施設バラの整枝管理および環境管理を最適化する理論の構築を目指した成育シミュレーションモデルの開発;切り花の品質管理における水ストレスおよび光酸素ストレスといった非生物的ストレスの影響;花の香り成分,特にモノテルペノイドおよび脂肪酸代謝。

To develop novel potentials in vegetables and flowers, researches on the breeding, production and quality control of vegetables and ornamental plants are conducted. Themes under investigation are as follows; development of a growth simulation model to discuss an optimization strategy of the greenhouse rose plant architecture and the environment control; influences of abiotic stress such as the water stress and photo-oxidative stress, in keeping quality of cut flowers; metabolisms of floral scent volatiles, especially monotelpenoid and fatty acids.
