高強度レーザーと物質との相互作用物理に関する基礎研究とその応用研究に従事している。教育に関しては、レーザー工学、光学、電気工学、計測光学など基礎を身につけたうえで研究課題、演習課題等に取組んでもらい、分野横断的な人材育成を目指している。

I have engaged in the study on laser-matter interaction science for fundamental physics and its applications. For education to have multidisciplinary capacity in human resource development, I have lessons for laser engineering, principle of optics, electronics engineering, and optical measurements. After these fundamental works learn, then advanced research and/or research works for new topics in laser fields is carried out.

Overview of the research

超高強度極短パルスレーザー物質相互作用の物理とその応用を研究している。極短パルスレーザーによるナノアブレーションや固体表面のナノスケール構造形成の物理を明らかにし、レーザー極微細(ナノ)加工や物質改質・創成といった新しい物質科学の可能性を探る。短パルスレーザーによる電子放出化過程を明らかにし、時間分解電子顕微鏡の開発も行う。さらに、超高強度レーザーによる放射線生成(THz、イオン)の物理とその解析化学への応用の研究を行っている。

Ultra-intense and ultra-short pulse laser-matter interactions and its applications are studied. The physics of femtosecond laser nano-ablation of solid are investigated for new laser nano-processing. The process of electron ejection from solid with short pulse lasers is also studied to develop time-resolved electron microscopy. The physics of high energy radiation generation (such as terahertz and ions) and its applications are done research into.
