宇宙地球化学では、超微量元素分析技術を駆使し、地球外物質に含まれる超微量始原水の同位体測定や太陽系開闢時代の隕石年代学を通じて、46億年にわたる太陽系や地球の起源や進化を明らかにしようと日々研究を行っています。太陽系の起源や進化を解明するため、地球外物質(隕石、IDP、リターンサンプル等)を構成している鉱物—水—有機物が、それぞれ、どのような形態で存在し、どのように進化してきたのかを解読することを目指しています。

The Cosmo- and Geo-chemistry group would be trying to understand the origin and evolution of solar system and earth through the elemental and isotope analyses of various samples including the mineral, water, organic matter samples from extra-terrestrial samples (Meteorite, IDP, Itokawa, Apollo etc..). The main topic is to understand what environment was effected, and how it was evolved along the history of our solar system during 4.6 billion years.
