構造変化の観点からタンパク質や核酸といった生体高分子の機能解析に関する研究を行っている。教育に関しては、研究室の学生や博士研究員に実験能力だけでなく、得られた結果を論文やプレゼンテーションで上手く相手に伝わるようにさせる能力および意識を身につけさせることを目指している。大学の委員会にも積極的に参加して、運営に貢献している。

I am studing function of biomolecules such as protein and nucleic acid in the light of structural fluctuation. As for education, one of my goals is to get students and postdoctoral researchers to acquire skills not only to conduct experiments but also to report their findings by writing papers and making presentation. I also contribute to administration of this university by actively taking part in some committees.

構造揺らぎの観点からタンパク質の機能に関する研究を行っている。具体的には、Rheo-NMRによる流体力学的な剪断力存在下におけるタンパク質の動的構造解析、パーキンソン病の原因タンパク質でありミトコンドリアのオートファジーを誘導するParkinが活性化する機構の解明に取り組んでいる。また、細胞内におけるタンパク質の動的構造解析を解析できるように、新しいin-cell NMR法の開発を行っている。

I have been studying function of proteins in the light of conformational dynamics. For instance, I have been working on structural dynamics of proteins under shear forces using Rheo-NMR, and the activation mechanism of ubiquitin ligase parkin, which is responsible for Parkinson's disease and the autophagy of mitochondria. I have also developing new in-cell NMR methodology to elucidate conformational dynamics of proteins in cells.
