分裂酵母を材料として、真核生物に普遍的な生命現象の制御機構に焦点を置いた研究を行なっている。講義については先人の成果について歴史を知る事、実験指導については機器や手法の原理を正しく理解する事が重要と考えている。

Main research is focused on the universal mechanism of eukaryotic cell regulation using fission yeast as a model system. I emphasize their history is important to understand previous results in the lecture and the principle of the methods and equipments is important to proceed the research.

真核生物の細胞周期は多くの遺伝子により、正確に制御されている。これらの遺伝子がどのように物理的、機能的に相互作用しながら細胞周期を制御しているかは明白ではない。我々はその機構について分裂酵母をモデルとして解析している。

Eukaryotic cell cycle is precisely regulated by many genes. However, in not clear how they interact functionally or physically in order to regulate cell cycle. We are trying to elucidate such mechanism using fission yeast as a model system.
