微細行動パタンの抽出・可視化手法の開発と,その神経基盤の検証

神経活動と行動の関数を明らかにするためには,神経活動のみならず,その最終出力としての行動もまた高い“解像度”で捉えることが求められます.近年,神経活動の高い時空間分解能での計測や制御が可能になり,これによって捉えられた微細な神経活動のパターンが,それまで知られていなかった微細な動作や複雑な行動パターンを表現している可能性が考えられるためです.研究では,生物の複雑な微細行動パターンの抽出・可視化を可能にする実験的・解析的手法を開発することで冒頭のニーズに応えるとともに,発見された微細行動パターンに新たな生物学的意義をもたらすことを目指します.

In order to unveil functions between behavioral and neural phenotype, precise high-throughput measurements of behaviors are indispensable. As recently developed cutting-edge techniques have enabled to measure or control finer neural processing with high spatio-temporal resolution, now we can expect that such micro neural processing would cause unforeknown behaviors as final outputs. For this issue, I have studied about experimental and analytical methods interdisciplinary combining psychology, information science, data-mining and so on, to extract and visualize finer and complex behavior patterns with biological significance.
