花の色素の生合成・模様形成機構の解明や、エピジェネティックな形質の不安定性機構の解明を目指し研究している。現在の研究テーマは、複色花のエピジェネティックな不安定性機構の解明・花色の黒色化機構の解明・花色の選抜を目的としたDNAマーカーの開発などがある。
