1995年香川県立高松高等学校卒業、1996年神戸大学農学部植物資源学科入学、2000年同学科卒業、2000年神戸大学大学院自然科学研究科博士課程前期過程入学、2002年同課程修了。2002年同博士課程後期過程入学、2006年3月修了。博士論文は森林生態系炭素循環における樹木根系の寄与。2006年より神戸大学教務補佐員、学術研究員、森林総合研究所非常勤特別研究員・非常勤職員をへて、2008年より日本学術振興会特別研究員(PD)。2008年9月よりフランス国立農業研究所(INRA)にて研究を行う。2009年9月より京都大学大学院農学研究科森林科学専攻助教、現在に至る。研究は樹木根をめぐる炭素循環研究。スポーツは学生時代に馬術。

樹木根をめぐる森林炭素動態
Overview of the research
(Japanese)
樹木は、光合成により、大気中の二酸化炭素(CO2)を吸収し、酸素(O2)を放出する。しかし同時にエネルギーを得るためにO2を吸収してCO2を放出する呼吸活動も行うので、CO2は樹体内をめぐり、一部は樹体や土壌を通って放出され、残りは蓄積されることになる。森林の炭素循環を明らかにし、気候変動等に関する将来予測を行う上で、これら樹木のCO2交換量の環境要因への応答性は重要なファクターであり、特に根圏に着目してCO2フラックス測定研究を行っている。近年では炭素安定同位体をトレーサーとして用いて、樹体の炭素循環プロセスを明らかにする実験を行っている。そのほか、細根動態や地下部バイオマスなどに関する研究。フィールドは、京都の落葉広葉樹二次林・大阪、フランスの人工林、また熱帯および亜寒帯林である。
