Research for epidemiology and anitimicrobial resistance mechanism of Streptococcus pneumoniae post introduction of pneumococcal conjugate vaccine
Overview of the research
(Japanese)
結合型肺炎球菌ワクチンの導入により、世界中の各地域において小児の侵襲性肺炎球菌感染症は減少した。一方でワクチンに含まれていない莢膜型をもつ肺炎球菌による感染症の増加が問題となっている。本邦でも、非ワクチン型による肺炎球菌感染症は増加しており、その一部に広域抗菌薬耐性を示すクローンが出現してきている。遺伝子解析を基にこれらの耐性菌の出現機構を解析するとともに、肺炎球菌のゲノム上の進化を解明する。 またこれらの研究に伴い、質量分析や表面プラズモンレゾナンスを利用した、新規タイピング方法、検出方法の開発を行っている。
