Overview of the research
(English)
Recent studies show that amyloid-β peptide (Aβ) can be produced in an activity-dependent manner locally at synapses. While the role of Aβ accumulation in synaptic dysfunction and AD pathogenesis is well established, molecular mechanisms modulating synaptic Aβ generation remain poorly understood. The aim of my research is to reveal the mechanism of the regulation of BACE1 activity at the synapses.
