    • Profile

      神経伝達物質の一つであるセロトニンが、脳でどのような機能を持っているのかを研究しています。特に、精神疾患の中でも患者数が多いうつ病のモデル動物をつかって、セロトニン神経活動がどのように変化しているか、その変化が行動にどのような影響を与えるか、神経活動変化がどのような分子機序によりもたらされるかについて、光遺伝学的手法やセロトニン神経選択的なトランスクリプトーム解析技術などを使って調べています。


      また、セロトニン神経が変性脱落する難病であるPerry病(Perry症候群)の研究を、ヒトiPS細胞を使って行っており、なぜセロトニン神経が死ぬのか、それを予防するにはどうすれば良いのか研究しています。
