Dynamic change of human brain network dependent on physiological and pathological states, including sleep and epilepsy
Overview of the research

覚醒や睡眠に伴う脳内の情報の流れ方の変化は、睡眠に伴う意識の生成や消失、てんかん発作の発作様式の変化などに関わっていると考えられます。しかし、その詳細は未解明です。この謎に対して、侵襲的・非侵襲的な手技・解析手法を駆使して、脳波などの神経生理学的データを記録・解析し、ネットワーク変容と神経生理(意識)や病態(てんかん)との関連を明らかにすることを目指します。

Dynamic change of propagation patterns of neural information in human brain is related to loss of consciousness or specific types of epileptic seizure during sleep. However, it remains to be clarified in detail. I’ve been investigating this enigma by analyzing neurophysiological data such as electroencephalography to uncover the association between the change of neural network and physiological (e.g. consciousness) and pathological (epilepsy) states. In that process, I employ non-invasive/invasive technique to record the data and analyze them by mathematical methods.
