中川は化学工学分野における分離工学を専門とし,2003年に多孔性材料の開発に関わる研究にて学位を取得した.博士研究員として研究に従事した2003〜2006年に,医薬・食品を対象とした乾燥技術(特に凍結乾燥技術)に取り組んだ経緯から,これまで凍結と乾燥をキーテクノロジーとしたプロセス技術に関わる研究を実施してきた.現在,食品の持つ構造を様々にコントロールできる新しい工業プロセスの開発を通じて,高付加価値な食品を世に提供することを目指す研究に取り組んでいる.食品乾燥,マイクロカプセル製造に関わるプロセス開発に特に注力している.

Nakagawa received his doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering from Kyoto University in 2003. Since he started his career as a post-doctoral fellow, he has been specialized in drying technology (freeze-drying) for food and pharmaceutics. His interests are now on processing technologies in freezing and drying, and related techniques such as microencapsulation.

食品や医薬品を対象とした乾燥技術の研究,特に工業凍結乾燥やマイクロカプセル製造に関わるプロセス工学的な研究をしています.食品は分子構造,ナノ構造,ミクロ構造に及ぶとても複雑な構造を持っています.これらの構造中における水の動的な振る舞いを上手にコントロールしたり,これらの構造を適切に創り出す技術の開発を通じて,食品の機能向上に貢献する技術を開発したいと考えております.

Nakagawa is studying on drying technologies for foods and drugs, in particular, specializes in industrial freeze-drying and microencapsulation researches with a process engineering approach. Food is built up with micro-structures, nano-structure and molecular level structure. Nakagawa attempts to develop a technique to control dynamic behavior of water in food structures, and to create food structures that generate food functionalities.
