G蛋白質共役受容体を主たる研究対象として、個体レベルでの薬理評価から、分子生物学、バイオインフォマティクス、ハイスループットシステムまでを含む広い手法で研究を行ってきた。 最近では、オーファン受容体のリガンド探索により、新規脂肪酸受容体GPR120を発見、肥満・糖尿病等への関与を明らかにしており、この分子を標的とする創薬研究を進めたいと考えている。
