新エネルギー創造のための各種高機能エネルギー材料の創成と加工に関して、種々の材料プロセスを駆使し、低環境負荷型材料プロセスの構築を目指した基礎的研究を行っている。物理化学、電気化学、化学熱力学などを基礎としている。従来の基礎重視の方針から、応用面を重視した研究に挑戦している。従来の湿式プロセス以外のプロセスを取り入れた新しい材料プロセスに取り組んでいる。その成果は、表面処理技術に関するいくつかの特許に結びついている。

Production and recycling processes for functional materials are investigated based on electrochemistry. The current research topics in this group are as follows: 1) Aqueous processing for functional thin films, 2) Functional surface treatment by aqueous/non-aqueous processing, 3) Materials processing for fuel cell, 4) Electrodeposition of compound semiconductors for solar cell, 5) Electrodeposition of alloys and compounds, 6) Hydrometallurgical recycling processProduction and recycling processes for functional materials are investigated based on electrochemistry.
