「地球はいかにして生命を宿す惑星になったのか?」 「地球以外にも生命を宿す惑星は存在するのか?」 こうした究極的な問いに答えるため、惑星科学という手法を用いて、惑星と生命の起源と進化について研究を行っています。遙か宇宙の彼方に浮かぶ「第二の地球」たち、そしてそこに生きる「生命」たちにについて、その存在や特徴を明らかにすることを目的としています。

I did my bachelor's degree and master's degree in science at the University of Tokyo and then decided planetary science would give me a chance to pursue the "Planet and Life"-type problem I have really been curious about. And then, I got a Ph.D. at The University of Tokyo on 2008. Now, I'm an Assistant Professor at the Department of Astronomy, Kyoto University.

惑星の起源と進化に最大の関心を持っています。原始惑星系円盤からどのようにして個々の惑星が形成されたのか、個々の惑星の性質・特徴はいかに生成されたのか、ということについて研究しています。

My general research interests are in learning about the origin and evolution of planets. I’m also interested in the ecological system and environment on terrestrial planets. I use a variety of numerical and analytic methods to examine how the surface environment of planets have been produced, evolved, and been stabilized. Then, I wish I compare these theoretical examinations to observations with telescope.
