研究分野は 数理流体力学 です.流体運動の数理的側面を大規模計算から数学解析までの様々なアプローチで解明することが目的です.例えば乱流への遷移現象などといった, 単に流体方程式の解の存在や一意性の議論を越えた, 流体現象の時間推移を数理的な見地から理解することを目指しています. 私は数値計算を積極的に利用します.数値計算を数学の研究で使うというのは,ありえないようにも思われますが,流体のような極めて非線形性の強い現象では数学的に何を示すべきかすら全くわからないことがしばしばありますので, 質の良い数値計算を実施して, その結果から質の良い 数学的推測(Conjecture) を得ることが重要になります.また,一般に流体の数値計算は大規模になり,そもそも数値計算自体が相当難しい場合もよくありますから,その数値計算法を開発・応用するだけでも数値解析学などに絡んで重要です.現在の研究対象は流体運動の中でも以下のような話題です. 二次元渦力学とその応用 (Vortex dynamics and its applications) 流体方程式の数値解析と数学解析 (Mathematical and Numerical Analysis of fluid equations) 流体力学とトポロジー (Topological Fluid Dynamics) 数理気象・気候力学の構築 (Mathematics and Meteorology) トポロジカルフローデータ解析(Topological Flow Data Analysis) 数理を基盤とした学際研究(Interdisciplinary mathematical studies)

My research interests are in understanding nonlinear dynamical phenomena observed in the evolutions of incompressible fluid motions; I am also intersted in interdisciplinary mathematical studies (Math. 現在,興味があるのは流体運動の中でも以下のような話題です. (1) 多重連結領域における二次元非粘性非圧縮流体運動理論の構築と応用. (2) 3次元一様等方乱流統計性質の理解に向けた保存系におけるエネルギー 散逸の数学理論の研究. (3) 流線トポロジーデータ解析(Topological Flow Data Analysis) (4) 3次元Navier-Stokes方程式の適切性に関する数学的モデルの構成と解析. (5) 渦層とよばれるEuler方程式の一つ解に現れる特異点の構造の解析と数値計算. (6) 点渦系とよばれる,簡単な流体モデルの数学解析. 特に球面上の渦運動の数理. (7) カオス的流体粒子混合の問題(組紐写像による位相的カオスなど) (8) 流体現象を伴う非線形現象の数理(非均一場における化学反応理論など)
