Overview of the research

生体内の環境は極めて多様で、各細胞は周囲の微小環境に適応しながら形態と機能を維持している。それらの微小環境の中で、低酸素は発生や幹細胞性質の維持、がんの悪性化などに関わることが示唆されている。当研究室では、細胞の低酸素応答マスターレギュレーターとして知られるHIFを中心に細胞の低酸素応答の制御メカニズムやその生理的機能の解明を目指し研究を行っている。

The environment is extremely diverse in vivo, and each cell maintains itself while adapting to the surrounding microenvironment. In those microenvironment, hypoxia regulates many physiological functions. In our laboratory, the we focus on HIF which is known as master regulator of cellular hypoxic responses and analyze the regulatory mechanisms and physiological importance of hypoxia response.
