医学部生時代、難病の治療法を見つけたいとの強い思いから、臨床医ではなく研究者の道を選びました。癌、神経変性疾患、肥満・糖尿病などの医学的に重要な問題を分子の目で解析し、そのような疾患で苦しんでいる人、家族に少しでも希望を与えたいと考えている。

When I was a medical student, I dicided to take carriers for a researcher but not for a clinical doctor,in hoping to find novel therapeutics for currently incurable diseases. Since then, I continuously perform basic researches to bring a hope for patients and their families.

私は、何故病気になるのかという視点からでは無く、何故、治らないのかという視点から難病研究に取り組むことで、多くの難病に共通する治療法が開発できるという考えで、新しい難病治療薬の開発を目指した研究を行っています。

I believe that we could develop novel therapeutics effective for currently incurable diseases, e.g. neurodegenerative disorders, incurable eye diseases, cancers, obesity-related diseases, cancers, etc., from a view of why currently incurable diseases are incurable, but not a view of why currently incurable diseases occur.
