京都大学農芸化学科農薬化学研究室(当時の名称)出身。当時、助教授(後に教授)であった藤田稔夫博士より医農薬の構造活性相関について学び、以後、「構造活性相関」を主テーマとして研究を行う。現在は、東南アジア、特にベトナムの環境中の残留農薬についても研究を行っている。1994-1995年、アメリカ国立衛生研究所 (NIH)、癌研究所医化学研究室のDr. Peter P. RollerにVisiting fellow として師事し,シグナル伝達機構の阻害剤開発プロジェクトに参加。

I graduated Department of Agriculture Chemistry, Kyoto University. I studied QSAR (Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationships) of medicinals and agrochemicals under Emeritus Professor Toshio Fujita. I am continuing QSAR researches on metabolism and transporters. In addition, I am interested in pesticide residues in the environment in Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand and Vietnam. Visiting Fellow at NCI, NIH, USA in 1994-1995.

Overview of your research

環境中における負荷因子(農薬、内分泌かく乱物質など)のヒト体内での動態(体内への吸収、分解、代謝) 、具体的には、化学的な実験およびコンピューターモデリングの手法を用いて、化学物質のリスク評価の観点から、吸収・代謝・排泄に関する構造活性相関研究を中心に行っている。また、タイ・ベトナムにおける残留農薬調査などヒトの健康に関わる事柄を、化学的な立場から研究している。
